Getting to Rome

By plane

airport Direct flights to Rome are available from many major European airports.

From Rome Fiumicino airport to Rome main stations
Follow the signs for the trains and purchase a ticket to Rome Termini station (Leonardo Express train) at the ticket machines or ticket counter; remember to stamp the relevant ticket before boarding the train to/from the airport. The connection takes 32 minutes to Termini station and costs €14.
There is also the possibility to buy tickets for regional trains, stopping at Rome Ostiense and Rome Tiburtina. The connection costs €8.50.

From Rome Ciampino airport to Rome Termini Station
Leaving the terminal, you will find commercial buses to Rome Termini (approx. €5); a ticket agent will be standing near the bus.

By train

train Both main Italian rail companies (Trenitalia and Italo) provide frequent high-speed service to Rome main train stations (Roma Termini and Roma Tiburtina).

International trains
Trains from Austria and southern Germany (ÖBB nightjet), France (Thello or SNCF), and Switzerland (Trenitalia/SBB) arrive at Milan or Rome, and a night train from north Germany (UEX) arrives in Verona. All of these stations are connected to Rome by Trenitalia and Italo high speed trains, although from Verona it is necessary to change in Bologna.
