Conditions of appointments

To be eligible for a postdoctoral research position in the EDGE network, the candidate must:

• be a young researcher (35 years or less of age, although an exemption will be made for compulsory military service or child care);

• hold a doctoral degree or a degree that qualifies her or him to embark on a doctoral degree;

• be a national of a Member State of the European Community, or of an Associated State (e.g. Norway,Romania,Switzerland), or s/he must have resided in the Community for at least five years.

• not be a national of the country in which s/he wishes to hold the position, or have carried out her or his normal activities in that country for more than 12 of the 24 months prior to the appointment.

• Exact terms and conditions will vary from node to node. At EDGE-Rome we expect to employ EDGE-post-docs with a net salary of about 2.500 Euros per month.
